WATCH: IDF Precision Strike Hits Hamas Cell Hiding Outside Gaza Hospital
The IDF conducted a precision airstrike on a Hamas cell near Al-Maamadani Hospital in central Gaza, accusing the group of using the facility to store weapons and plan attacks. The operation, executed with measures to reduce civilian casualties, underscores Hamas’s exploitation of civilian infrastructure amid ongoing conflict.

Last night an Israeli Air Force aircraft conducted a precision strike against a Hamas terrorist cell operating just outside the Al-Maamadani Hospital compound in the Zaytun area of central Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Sunday. The targeted cell was observed storing weapons and arming themselves within the hospital grounds, using the facility as a base for planning attacks. The IDF condemned Hamas’s tactics, stating, “The Hamas terrorist organization continues to use hospitals in the Gaza Strip for terrorist purposes, cynically and brutally exploiting the civilian population in and around the hospital.”
To minimize civilian harm, the IDF employed several precautionary measures before and during the strike, including the use of precision-guided munitions, real-time aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence assessments. The operation reflects Israel’s ongoing efforts to dismantle Hamas’s military capabilities while navigating the challenges of urban warfare, where the group frequently embeds itself among civilian infrastructure. The Al-Maamadani Hospital has previously been cited in controversies over alleged misuse by Hamas, including a disputed October 2023 incident where an explosion near the hospital was initially blamed on Israel but later attributed to a misfired Palestinian rocket.
The strike is part of Operation Gideon’s Chariots, which intensified in 2025 to target Hamas’s remaining strongholds in Gaza City and other areas. The IDF’s focus on precision strikes comes amid heightened scrutiny of civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict, sparked by Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack that killed over 1,200 Israelis and abducted 251 others. With 50 hostages still held, including 20 believed to be alive, Israel continues to balance military objectives with humanitarian considerations, while Hamas exploits Gaza’s civilians as human shields to hide its terror operations.
