WATCH: Heartbreaking Footage Emerges of IDF Soldiers Days Before Hamas Abduction on October 7
Newly released footage shows Israeli soldiers Omer Neutra, Oz Daniel, and Nimrod Cohen a week before their abduction by Hamas on October 7, 2023, with two killed and one still in captivity. The video, capturing their humility during a volunteer visit, highlights the personal tragedy of the massacre.

Today, newly released footage revealed a poignant glimpse of Israeli Armored Corps soldiers Omer Neutra, Oz Daniel, and Nimrod Cohen, captured just one week before their abduction by Hamas during the October 7, 2023, massacre. The video, filmed at the “White House” outpost near the Gaza border, shows the soldiers alongside Sergeant Shaked Dahan, who was killed on the same day. Omer Neutra and Oz Daniel were killed during the attack and are classified as fallen hostages held by a terrorist organization, while Nimrod Cohen remains alive in Hamas captivity, one of the 50 hostages still held as of August 2025.
The footage, shared publicly on Sunday, captures the soldiers interacting with Tsipora Halfon, Chair of the Volunteers Division of the Association for the Soldiers, who made an unplanned visit to the outpost on the Friday before the attack to distribute food and snacks for Shabbat. Reflecting on the visit, Halfon said, “They were so modest. They were embarrassed to go take the snacks and cans,” highlighting the soldiers’ humility and camaraderie. The visit was intended to boost morale, but the footage now serves as a painful reminder of the tragedy that followed.
Amir Daniel, father of the murdered hostage Oz Daniel, spoke emotionally about the video, saying, “They were a humble team. Such intelligent and shy children. I came across this footage a few days after October 7 and recognized them immediately.” The October 7 attack, which killed over 1,200 Israelis and saw 251 abducted, remains a raw wound for Israel, with ongoing efforts to secure the release of remaining hostages amid stalled ceasefire negotiations. The footage underscores the human toll of the conflict and renews calls for accountability and the safe return of captives like Nimrod Cohen.
