IDF releases image of Hercules plane used to contain fires

The IDF released a picture today (Wednesday) of a Hercules plane getting ready to take off and fight the fires raging in the Jerusalem and Latrun areas.

As Israeli planes work to combat the raging fires, Israel has issued a call for help from neighboring European countries in the eastern Mediterranean such as Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Italy to send planes and material to help put out the fires.

However, according to Channel 12 reporter Amit Segal, the assistance will likely only come tomorrow due the difficulty of operating firefighting planes at nighttime.
