In a dramatic development, Israeli authorities have arrested an IDF soldier suspected of maintaining deliberate contact with Iranian operatives and transmitting non-classified information to them in exchange for money. Following a joint investigation by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), the Israel Police’s Lahav 433 serious crimes unit, and the IDF's Military Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID), a formal indictment has been filed against the soldier by the military prosecution.

According to the indictment, the soldier is charged with contact with a foreign agent and delivering information to the enemy. The investigation revealed that the soldier was aware of the identities of the Iranian agents and actively cooperated with them by carrying out various tasks. These included sending video footage of Israeli missile interceptions as well as images of missile impact sites.

Authorities emphasized that the information transferred did not originate from the soldier’s military duties and was not classified as sensitive.

A joint statement from the Shin Bet and Israel Police described the case as “particularly severe,” underscoring the threat posed by enemy attempts to recruit Israeli citizens for intelligence purposes. The military court has ordered the soldier to remain in custody at this stage.

Security agencies reiterated their warning to the Israeli public to avoid any contact with hostile elements.
