It has been cleared for publication that Sergeant Alon Davidov, 21, from Kiryat Yam, is the seventh fallen soldier who died last night in the battle at Khan Younis. Davidov was a combat medic in the 605th Combat Engineering Battalion, 'Barak' Division (188).

Seven soldiers from the IDF’s 605th Combat Engineering Battalion were killed in a deadly terror attack in southern Gaza, after a terrorist managed to attach an improvised explosive device (IED) to their armored personnel carrier (APC). The incident occurred in the Khan Younis area, a key flashpoint in the ongoing fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas.

According to a preliminary investigation by the IDF, the attack targeted a “Puma” APC operated by forces from the 188th Armored Brigade. A terrorist apparently approached the vehicle undetected and placed the explosive device, which detonated while the soldiers were inside.
