At approximately 5:50 a.m. Friday morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) detected missiles launched from Iranian territory toward Israel, marking a dangerous escalation in hostilities. According to early assessments, one of the missiles was not intercepted and struck within the city of Be’er Sheva.

Sirens sounded across southern Israel, including in Be’er Sheva and the Judea region, as up to three missiles were reportedly fired. One of them landed in a residential area of Be’er Sheva, igniting several vehicles and causing significant damage to an apartment in a six-story building. Nearby structures also sustained blast-related damage.

Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency teams quickly arrived at the scene, where they set up two treatment centers to assist casualties. Paramedics treated five individuals for light injuries, including wounds from shrapnel, smoke inhalation, and anxiety. All were evacuated to hospitals for further care.

The IDF continues to investigate the nature of the missile launch and is assessing whether it signals further long-range threats from Iran in the coming days.

The IDF attacked this morning (Friday) three missile launchers ready for launch from Iran towards Israel. Additionally, the IDF eliminated the military commander involved in launching the ballistic missiles in the attack. Channel 14's military and security correspondent Hallel Biton Rosen reports that during the night our planes detected preparations for missile launches towards Israeli territory; three launchers were attacked and destroyed by the Air Force. In addition, a commander in the Iranian army involved in launching the missiles was eliminated. According to estimates, the destruction of the launchers just before launch prevented a broader barrage. So far, our forces have destroyed over 50% of the missile launchers in Iran.
