The IDF just released this statement:

"A short while ago, the IDF identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel.

"Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat.

"Upon receiving an alert, the public is instructed to enter a protected space and remain there until further notice."

"Leaving the protected space is only permitted following an explicit directive. Continue to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command."

Most expect this barrage to be small, with one report saying Iran launched just one missile.

The IDF released an additional statement:

"A short while ago, sirens sounded in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward the State of Israel.

"The public is requested to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command.

"At this time, the IAF is operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat.

"The defense is not hermetic, therefore, it is essential to continue following the instructions of the Home Front Command."

According to Kann reporter Itay Blumenthal, one missile was fired and intercepted by the IDF.

Magen David Adom reports no casualties from the missile attack, aside from some cases of anxiety and people injuring themselves while heading to shelter.

The IDF has released the following statement:

"Following the situational assessment, the Home Front Command published that it is now permitted to leave protected spaces in several areas across the country. The public is requested to continue to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command."

This is a developing story.
