The government is set to meet tomorrow (Friday) to discuss if and how to expand IDF operations in the Gaza Strip, according to a report by i24 News.

The presumption is that the operations will be expanded, and that it's only a question of the pace and scale. Israel believes that military pressure forces Hamas into concessions on hostage negotiations but that it's not happening fast enough.

The government meeting comes in the wake of Prime Minister Netanyahu's statement that while rescuing the hostages is one of many important goals, the ultimate and supreme goal is defeating Israel's enemies, perhaps implying a willingness on Netanyahu's part to risk the lives of the hostages to end the threat posed by Hamas.
