Peace and normalization with Syria? Senior Israeli leader says it's possible
Israeli NSC Chairman Tzachi Hanegbi told the Knesset today that Israel is conducting direct negotiations with Syria at all levels, both military and political.

National Security Council Chairman Tzachi Hanegbi informed the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Sunday that Israel is conducting direct talks at all levels with the Syrian government, despite reservations about Syrian President al-Julani's Jihadist past.
Hanegbi told the committee that Julani was "shaping in motion" and that even withdrawal from the IDF held buffer zone was up for negotiation if Syria agrees to normalization, though Israel will not withdraw from the Syrian Hermon.
Syria remained neutral during the Israel-Iran war and did not even make symbolic efforts to interfere with or protest Israeli planes flying through his country's airspace en route to strike targets in Iran.
