Security official: Khamenei assassination is likely: “He won’t die peacefully in bed”
In a sharp escalation, a senior Israeli source signals that the Iranian leader may be a direct target. The quote: “When he’s marked, the trigger will be pulled.”

A senior defense official told Channel 14 News on Friday that "no matter how old Khamenei is and what his health is, as long as it depends on us, he will not age with dignity. As soon as he has a cross on his forehead, we'll pull the trigger."
The remarks follow a threat by Defense Minister Israel Katz, who said this morning, "I suggest that the Lebanese proxy be careful and understand that Israel has lost patience with terrorists who threaten it." According to him, "Hezbollah's secretary-general does not learn a lesson from his predecessors and threatens to act against Israel in accordance with the orders of the Iranian dictator."
This comes after Channel 14 News reported that the defense establishment is preparing for the possibility that the terrorist proxies, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, will take advantage of the Israeli attack on Iran and the possibility that the United States will join the campaign, and respond with a barrage of missiles from the south and north.
Conflicting reports are heard in the background: while a Lebanese official claims that Hezbollah will not intervene even if the U.S. enters, an Iranian official warned that American action would lead to Hezbollah being activated against Israel.
