MK Boaron on Failure to Expel Ayman Odeh: "A dark day"
The MK who tried o get Ayman Odeh expelled for his anti-Israel remarks and excusing of terrorism lamented the failure to get the necessary majority.

MK Avichai Boaron had this to say today (Monday) when his effort to expel MK Ayman Odeh fell short of the necessary 90 votes, receiving just 73:
"This is a dark day in the history of the Knesset - the fact that a terror supporter is not removed from the Knesset thanks to 37 Zionist MKs from the opposition and coalition who did not come to support Odeh's dismissal is an indelible stain on the face of the Israeli Knesset.
"Soldiers, bereaved families, families of the hostages, I am sorry. We did everything we could to dismiss Ayman Odeh today from the Israeli Knesset and we failed. All of us, all the Zionist Knesset members in the coalition and opposition. We were unable to root out the evil from among us and remove this man from our midst.
"A man who supports terror, a man whose statements are not mere statements, but statements that permit the blood of IDF soldiers, that yearn for the defeat of our soldiers and the victory of Gaza, that equate our hostages with Nukhba terrorists - such a person should not have been here.
"The eye-rolling of the post-Zionist opposition and the evasion of most members of Yesh Atid and the National Unity party are a shame and disgrace to every Israeli. Parties that did not expel the terrorist Odeh need to do deep soul-searching.
"I also call on my colleagues in Agudat Yisrael and Degel HaTorah to do soul-searching and ask themselves how it can be that they did not come to support the dismissal of this man? We are brothers, we walk a long path together, and the Torah world is dear to our hearts, but Israel's security is also dear to our hearts. And a person who permits the blood of IDF soldiers and Israeli citizens and harms Israel's security should not be a member of the Israeli Knesset.""
