WATCH: Homes Burned, Families Evacuated As Firefighters Battle Nes Ziona Blaze
A massive wildfire broke out in Nes Ziona, Israel, spreading to residential areas and destroying three buildings, prompting the evacuation of nearby homes. Firefighting teams, with support from multiple districts, successfully contained the blaze, and an investigation into its cause is underway.

A large-scale wildfire erupted this evening on Saadia Nachum Street in Nes Ziona, Israel, rapidly spreading from an open field toward residential areas. The blaze, fueled by dry conditions, engulfed three buildings, causing significant damage, and threatened additional homes in the densely populated neighborhood. The Israel Fire and Rescue Service, led by the Central District, deployed 21 firefighting crews from Rehovot and other districts to combat the fire, successfully preventing further destruction. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Initially, 15 firefighting teams responded to the emergency, focusing on containing the fire as it approached homes. Two buildings were quickly consumed, prompting the evacuation of the first row of residences. Amit Malul Rosenblatt, Central District spokesperson, reported, “The fire spread toward residential buildings, and the first row of homes was evacuated.” As the situation escalated, additional crews joined, bringing the total to 21. Rosenblatt updated, “Three buildings have been caught in the fire. Efforts are ongoing to contain the fire line, protect adjacent structures, and prevent harm to civilians.”
By late evening, firefighters achieved control over the blaze, halting its advance. Rosenblatt confirmed, “Firefighting crews from the Central District, with support from other districts, operated on Saadia Nachum Street in Nes Ziona, tackling a large-scale wildfire that spread to residential areas. The fire damaged three buildings. Firefighters successfully stopped the fire’s progression and are now working to fully extinguish it and prevent re-ignition.” The early evacuation ensured no casualties, a critical success given the fire’s intensity.
The incident follows a period of heightened national tension after the 12-day Israel-Iran war, ended by a ceasefire on June 24. Dry weather and strong winds likely exacerbated the fire’s spread, a growing concern in Israel’s summer season. Authorities are investigating whether arson or environmental factors sparked the blaze, with heightened vigilance due to recent regional conflicts.
