Top Netanyahu Aide Reveals Spiritual Shift: “I Put on Tefillin Every Morning"
Topaz Luk, Netanyahu’s senior advisor, shared in a radio interview that he recently began putting on tefillin every morning as part of a deeper connection to Judaism, saying the practice brings strength and spiritual grounding.

Topaz Luk, senior advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, revealed in a recent interview that he has taken on a new daily religious commitment: putting on tefillin every morning.
Speaking to radio hosts Yaki Edmeir and Israel Cohen on Kol Barama, Luk explained the personal significance of the practice. “Putting on tefillin every morning is something I recently took upon myself,” he said. “It’s about getting closer to Judaism and making that connection stronger.”
According to Luk, the daily mitzvah has had a profound impact. “It does good for the soul,” he said, expressing hope that other Israelis would also deepen their ties to Judaism. “I hope that all of Israel will find their own way to connect. It’s important - it’s what holds us here.”
The comments reflect a growing trend of public figures in Israel sharing their personal spiritual journeys, particularly in times of national upheaval. Luk, known as one of Netanyahu’s closest and most influential aides, framed his decision not as a political statement but as a personal step toward strengthening his Jewish identity.
