After Eating Contaminated Food: Netanyahu Falls Ill with Intestinal Inflammation
Amid ongoing hostage negotiations and regional unrest in Syria, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is suffering from intestinal inflammation due to food poisoning. He is expected to rest at home for the next three days and continue running the country remotely.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not feeling well and is expected to remain at home for the next three days, during which he will continue to manage state affairs, his office announced Sunday.
A medical examination conducted at his residence by Dr. Alon Hershko, head of internal medicine at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, determined that the prime minister is suffering from intestinal inflammation, reportedly caused by consumption of spoiled food.
Netanyahu’s office stated:
“Following additional medical tests, the Prime Minister's condition was assessed as good. He is currently receiving intravenous fluids to treat dehydration that accompanied the illness. Per his doctors' recommendation, the Prime Minister will rest at home for the next three days while continuing to oversee government operations.”
Throughout the years, Netanyahu’s office has periodically released medical updates regarding his health. Close associates insist his overall condition remains good. About six weeks ago, he successfully underwent a routine colonoscopy at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Back in December, Netanyahu also underwent urological surgery. At the time, his office said:
“The surgery was successful and without complications. The Prime Minister woke up from anesthesia in good condition and is fully conscious. He was transferred to a secure underground recovery unit and is expected to remain in the hospital under observation for several days.”
