Police deploy in large forces to prevent arson attacks
As Israel fights to contain the large blazes throughout Israel, the Police is aiming to prevent any further fires lit by arsonists.
The Israel Police announced that "following a situational assessment" today (Wednesday), they will be deploying in large numbers to prevent any arson attempts which might add to the large scale wildfires raging throughout Israel.
Here is the full statement:
"After a joint situation assessment by the Minister of National Security and the Police Commissioner, the Commissioner directed a widespread deployment of police forces along with 14,000 members of readiness units throughout the country, in order to prevent serious arson incidents. In addition, it was decided that the Israel Police and the Air Unit would deploy extensive surveillance means, in order to enable a rapid response of firefighting forces to additional arson attempts."
