New Poll Reveals: Majority of the Public Opposes Stopping the War
A new poll by i24 and Direct Polls reveals: 62% of the public opposes stopping the war in exchange for releasing all the hostages. Most respondents prefer to intensify or continue fighting until a decisive outcome.

A new poll published by Channel I24 and the Direct Polls institute reveals that the majority of the public opposes stopping the war in exchange for releasing all the hostages. According to the poll, 62% of respondents answered that they oppose an arrangement that would include a ceasefire and complete withdrawal from Gaza in exchange for returning all the hostages, while only 34% support such a move.
Regarding the deal being negotiated behind the scenes, and Hamas's insistence on surrender demands from Israel, respondents were asked: "Hamas is proposing a deal to release all the hostages in one phase, which would end the war while maintaining Hamas's rule in Gaza and its continued possession of weapons, complete IDF withdrawal, along with a commitment to rebuild the Strip together with the release of over a thousand terrorists. Should Israel agree to these demands in order to bring about the release of all the hostages?"
Only 34% supported such an agreement, while 4% answered that they have no opinion. A vast majority of the public, 62 percent, absolutely opposed it.
Additionally, participants were asked what Israel should do if Hamas does not agree to a partial deal: 39% believe Israel should intensify the fighting until a decisive outcome, even if there is risk to the hostages' lives. 36% prefer to continue pressure in the current framework until Hamas agrees. 22% prefer to stop and accept Hamas's demand, and 3% answered that they have no position on the matter.
