Agam Berger Meets Rabbi Yigal Cohen: "You Kept Your Faith Even in Hell" | WATCH
In an emotional meeting, Rabbi Cohen told Berger that her resilience sanctified God’s name and gave strength to Israel in its darkest hours.
A moving and powerful meeting took place this morning at the residence of Rabbi Yigal Cohen, member of the Chief Rabbinate Council and head of the “Yabia Omer” institutions, with hostage survivor Agam Berger, accompanied by noted philanthropist Shai Graucher.

During the encounter, Rabbi Cohen, one of Israel’s most prominent Torah leaders and outreach figures, expressed deep admiration for Agam, praising the extraordinary strength she displayed during her captivity. Despite the unbearable suffering, he noted, she courageously upheld her Jewish values — Shabbat observance, kashrut, and unwavering faith.
“A great merit has been granted to you,” Rabbi Cohen told her, “for you managed to strengthen the People of Israel in a time of crisis, and to sanctify God’s name before the entire world.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, Rabbi Cohen gifted Agam and Graucher copies of his newly published prayer book and a volume of “Duties of the Heart” (Chovot HaLevavot). The gathering ended with a heartfelt joint prayer — for the immediate release of all hostages still held in captivity, and for the safety and success of IDF soldiers and Israel’s security forces.
