In a dramatic early-morning incident in Rafah, part of a building collapsed on a group of Givati Brigade fighters who had been operating in the structure during the night and in recent days. Six soldiers were inside the section that gave way, but all managed to extricate themselves without injury and required no medical treatment.

During the night (Wednesday to Thursday), the IDF and the Shin Bet attacked terrorists who were staying in a command and control compound of the Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorist organizations that was established in the Jabalia area.

The command and control compound was used by the terrorists to plan and carry out terrorist acts against the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF forces.

Prior to the attack, many steps were taken to reduce the chance of civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions, contractual aerial weapons, and other intelligence information.
