Poll: Gantz Beats Netanyahu; Likud at 8-Year Nadir

Netanyahu's Likud gets just 18 seats. The big winner: Gantz with 40 seats. The coalition collapses to 43 seats.

A new poll published this morning continues the trend of the last two weeks, whereby Binyamin Netanyahu’s Likud collapses while Benny Gantz rises to unprecedented heights.

According to a poll conducted by Lazar Mechkarim led by Dr. Mencahem Lazar together with Panel4All and published on the Maariv website, the Likud headed by Neyanyahu receives just 18 seats, the lowest number since 2015 after Operation Protective Edge. Benny Gantz’s State Party camp receives 40 seats.

Yesh Atid receives 15 seats, Shas 8, United Torah Judaism 7, Yisrael Beiteinu 7, Meretz 6. Otmah Yehudit and Religious Zionism each get 5 seats.

Hadash-Ta’al gets 5 seats and Ra’am gets 4 seats. Labour and Balad do not pass the electoral threshold.

Based on breakdown of political blocs, the coalition receives 43 seats and the opposition – 77.

On the question of who is most fit to serve as Prime Minister, 48% responded Benny Gantz, 28% responded Binyamin Netanyahu, while 23% said they don’t know.
