Yair Golan elected leader of Labour party
Former MK and Deputy IDF Chief of Staff Yair Golan won the Labour Party's leadership primary by an overwhelming 95%.
Labour primary voters voted today (Tuesday) to decide who would be the party leader. Yair Golan, former MK and IDF Deputy Chief of Staff, won by a landslide.

Itay Leshem 1.76%
Uzi Nagar 0.77%
Avi Shaked 1.89%
Abstained 0.43%
The total number of voters stood at 31,353, some 60.6% of all party members.
Golan will now replace outgoing party chairperson Merav Michaeli, who has led the party since 2021.
The vote took place online, with members capable of voting via their cellphone or personal computer.
Golan faces a formidable challenge, as all major polling outlets usually show Labour failing to pass the electoral threshold and enter the Knesset.
