Smotrich to Macron: Thanks For Justifying Annexation of Judea and Samaria
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, in a tweet posted in Hebrew and French, thanked French President Emmanuel Macron for giving Israel a reason to apply sovereignty to Judea and Samaria and prevent a Palestinian state.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich responded today (Thursday) to French President Emmanuel Macron's announcement that France would recognize a Palestinian state in September:
"Je remercie le président Macron de fournir une raison supplémentaire — et des plus convaincantes — pour enfin appliquer la souveraineté israélienne sur les régions historiques de Judée et Samarie, et pour en finir une bonne fois pour toutes avec l’illusion dangereuse d’un État palestinien terroriste au cœur de la Terre d’Israël. Ce sera notre réponse sioniste légitime face aux pressions unilatérales et aux manœuvres coercitives de Macron et de ses alliés."
Translation:
"I thank President Macron for providing an additional reason — and a most convincing one — to finally apply Israeli sovereignty over the historic regions of Judea and Samaria, and to put an end once and for all to the dangerous illusion of a terrorist Palestinian state in the heart of the Land of Israel. This will be our legitimate Zionist response to the unilateral pressures and coercive maneuvers of Macron and his allies."
