Shefi Paz, the renowned South Tel Aviv activist, was released from prison last Friday after 21 days instead of the 45 days imposed on her.

She explained the reason for the release: "There is crazy overcrowding in the prisons, every prisoner with less than a 3 year sentence receives administrative release, there is no special treatment here."

She was asked if the reason for her release was "good behavior."

Paz laughed and replied: "You would have died."

She added: "Although there is indeed a woman in prison with a small child, we tried to make changes, a one-year-old child should not be in prison, but for some reason they did not agree."

Paz said: "They eat a lot of carbohydrates there; I was discharged on Friday towards noon, I slept well, I saw the family, I rested and I'm ready for the upcoming battles."
