Almog Cohen uncovers politician’s role in espionage scandal, vows to expose the truth

Knesset member Almog Cohen from Otzma Yehudit, who exposed the impersonating officer scandal, claims that a senior politician is involved in the affair.

In an interview with 'Galey Israel' radio, Cohen said that "a well-known politician is involved in the spy affair." According to him: "I needed to let him make mistakes, so he thinks that I don't know about him, and now that he has made the mistake, I am attacking."

Cohen said, "My message is very clear to that corrupt, rotten, and detestable judicial system; if you think you've found the next fool to turn the other cheek, you are sorely mistaken. You will see just how creative I can be and how determined I am that the truth will come to light."

We remind you that the impersonating officer case is a security matter, in which a non-active IDF officer infiltrated the Southern Command operations room and extracted classified information from the outbreak of the October 7 massacre, until he was arrested by the Shin Bet on October 15.

Initially, a serious indictment for espionage was filed against the suspect, which was later softened to security offenses of the type "espionage without intent to harm state security." A sweeping publication ban was imposed on the case, which was partially lifted after about six months, allowing parts of it to be published.
