Israel to expand production of Arrow 3 anti-missile missiles
Following its success in protecting the country from long-range threats from around the region, Israel will now invest billions in acquiring more interceptors.
The Defense Ministry signed a deal today (Tuesday) expanding its production of Arrow 3 anti-missile interceptor missiles, to the tune of billions of shekels.
The Arrow anti-missile missile system, developed jointly by Israel and the US, was designed to protect against long-range ballistic missile threats, such as those presented by the Houthis in Yemen and Iran.
The Arrow system was used to help prevent missiles fired from both countries from reaching Israeli airspace or territory at high success rates, though not perfect ones.
The Choma Administration within the Defense Ministry's Directorate of Defence Research & Development is in charge of continuing to develop Israel's "three-tiered" missile defense system - Iron Dome, David's Sling, and the Arrow, and for working on international collaborations to better develop its defensive capabilities.
