The IDF announced Saturday evening that its elite combat engineering unit Yahalom, operating with the 99th Division, has destroyed a sophisticated underground Hamas weapons manufacturing facility in central Gaza.

According to the military spokesperson, the operation was carried out following precise intelligence that led forces to a tunnel network containing an active weapons production site. Inside the underground complex, troops discovered multiple industrial lathes and cutting machines used for weapons manufacturing.

The facility was well-equipped, containing not only manufacturing equipment but also military gear, documents, computers, and portable hard drives - all of which were seized by IDF forces before the site's destruction.

In a detail highlighting the elaborate nature of the underground complex, the military noted that the tunnel system included blast-proof doors and bathroom facilities, suggesting it was designed for extended periods of use by Hamas operatives.

Engineering forces from both the 99th Division and Yahalom unit conducted a thorough mapping of the site before destroying it. The IDF emphasized that eliminating this manufacturing capability represents a significant setback to Hamas's efforts to rebuild its military infrastructure.

This operation marks another step in the IDF's ongoing campaign to dismantle Hamas's underground military infrastructure in Gaza.
