The Israel Air Force carried out an airstrike on Saturday afternoon, targeting a Hamas weapons storage facility in the Deir Ali area of southern Syria, the IDF announced.

Hours later, additional explosions were reported near Damascus, following further airstrikes, according to the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese news outlet Al Mayadeen.

The IDF’s latest operations come after its vow to "dismantle Hamas' capabilities on all of its fronts" in response to ongoing security threats.

According to the Israeli military, the weapons stored at the targeted facility in Syria were intended for use in attacks against IDF forces.

"The IDF will continue to dismantle Hamas' capabilities on all of its fronts and will act against any attempts by terrorist organizations to entrench themselves and strengthen their forces," the military added, emphasizing its commitment to securing the State of Israel.
