Labor Party Knesset Member Naama Lazimi sparked controversy during a Finance Committee meeting today, claiming that Prime Minister Netanyahu's son Yair was "exiled abroad" following an alleged physical altercation with his father. The claims came during a discussion about Sara Netanyahu's stay in the United States.

Committee members expressed surprise at Lazimi's allegations, questioning the basis for her claims about Yair Netanyahu's extended absence from Israel. The Likud party swiftly responded, calling the statement "an absolute and despicable lie" and threatening legal action against anyone who repeats these "defamatory claims."

During the same session, questions were raised about the funding of Sara Netanyahu's U.S. stay. The Prime Minister's Office budget director clarified that aside from mandatory security costs, Mrs. Netanyahu's stay abroad is not being funded by the state. "Any claim otherwise is simply incorrect," the budget director stated.

The allegations come amid increased scrutiny of the Netanyahu family's activities and expenses.
