A man armed with a knife and a flare gun tried to enter the home of Minister Ron Dermer the day before yesterday (Monday). The guard disarmed him.

The man reportedly claimed to have been a hostage during the famous Entebbe raid in which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's brother Yoni was killed, and demanded to be allowed into Minister Dermer's home. He was disarmed by the guard.

Authorities are looking into whether the man has a record of psychiatric illness.

Minister Dermer is responsible for managing the negotiation team for Israel in hostage talks with Hamas, though there has at present been little progress made, and Israel is reportedly planning on renewing the war within about a week after incoming IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir establishes himself.
