IDF Arabic-language spokesman Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee released striking footage from Gaza, showing hundreds of residents swarming a humanitarian aid truck while IDF soldiers stood just meters away, adhering to a strict order: “Nobody fires.” The video, shared on X, captures a rare moment where Gazans, after receiving aid, clapped and cheered for the soldiers, contradicting Hamas’s claims of IDF attacks on civilians seeking assistance. Adraee described the scene, stating, “This is how Hamas’s lies collapse. In a heartbreaking scene this afternoon, IDF soldiers stood firm just meters away as dozens of Gazans received humanitarian aid. Not a single shot was fired. The decision was clear: do not shoot.” He added, “The Palestinian response was not fear but hope. Civilians began greeting our soldiers and cheering them, as if they saw life after darkness.”

The footage counters Hamas’s narrative, amplified by its Health Ministry, which claimed 70 Palestinians were killed while seeking aid, a figure the IDF disputes, stating, “A preliminary review shows the reported casualty numbers do not align with available information.” Adraee directly addressed these accusations, asserting, “There is no starvation, no deliberate killing, and no intentional harm to those seeking aid. There is only Hamas propaganda spreading falsehoods in a desperate attempt to salvage the terrorist organization from total defeat.”

The incident occurred amid ongoing IDF operations in Gaza, where 888 Israeli soldiers and civilians have died since Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack, which killed 1,200 and took 251 hostages. Social media reactions on X were polarized, with one user noting, “Gazans cheering IDF shows Hamas’s grip is slipping.” The video, viewed over 2 million times within hours, highlights Israel’s efforts to facilitate over 4,000 aid trucks entering Gaza in 2025, despite Hamas’s documented theft of supplies, as reported by UNRWA in June 2025.
