A catastrophic collapse of four-story scaffolding at a construction site on Renek Street in Tel Aviv claimed the life of a worker and injured three others this morning, authorities reported. The incident, occurring during renovation work, prompted a quick response from emergency services, with the site manager detained for questioning, according to Mako’s Shilo Kahlon.

The deceased worker fell approximately 15 meters when the scaffolding gave way, and rescue teams pronounced him dead at the scene. Three other workers were extracted from the debris and evacuated to Ichilov Hospital. Medical officials from Magen David Adom (MDA) reported treating a 30-year-old man in moderate condition with a head injury and a 23-year-old in mild condition with chest and limb injuries. The conditions of the third injured worker were not specified, though all were described as having light to moderate injuries.

Police and firefighting units were dispatched at 8:40 a.m. following reports of the collapse. Five firefighting crews worked to free the trapped workers, while ZAKA volunteers assisted at the scene. Superintendent Rotem Vasker, commander of Tel Aviv’s Lev Police Station, conducted a situation assessment alongside rescue forces and municipal officials. The police confirmed the site manager’s arrest as part of an ongoing investigation into the cause of the collapse.
