Report: Trump held private meeting with Ron Dermer to discuss Iran and Hamas
Axios reports the two discussed urgent regional security issues, including Tehran’s ambitions and Hamas hostilities.

U.S. President Donald Trump met with Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer on Thursday to discuss the Iran nuclear talks and the Israel-Hamas war, Axios reported, citing two sources briefed on the meeting.
According to the report, the meeting took place at the White House and was not publicly announced by either the U.S. or Israeli governments.
Axios noted that Dermer had already met with Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Wednesday and held multiple meetings at the White House, including the Thursday meeting with Trump.
These discussions occurred ahead of the fourth round of U.S.-Iran nuclear negotiations set to begin in Oman on Sunday. The Trump administration’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, will lead the U.S. delegation, while Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is set to head the Iranian team.
Araghchi is also scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Saturday and will participate in the Iran-Arab World Dialogue summit in Doha. According to Al Araby Al Jadeed, he will also address the Israel-Hamas conflict during his trip.
Trump is set to begin a Middle East tour on Monday, which will include stops in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, but not Israel.
