Trump: I was told there are 21 living hostages remaining
The President said that three of the reported 24 living hostages had died.

President Donald Trump just said today (Tuesday) that he was told "a few days ago" that there are only 21 live hostages remaining in Hamas captivity in the Gaza Strip. Trump said that three of the reported 24 live hostages had died.
This number is at the low end of the reported number of living hostages held in Hamas captivity, with the numbers usually between 20 and 24 or 25. Sarah Netanyahu also reportedly admitted in a hot mic moment that the number of living hostages is less than publicly acknowledged.
Israel presented its final proposal to Hamas before it launches its planned military operation to isolate and destroy the remaining Hamas forces in the Gaza Strip and control the Gaza Strip. While the IDF said that the primary goal is the return of the hostages, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir also told the government that the operation risked the lives of the remaining living hostages, however many remain.
