With talks for a partial hostage deal currently on hold, the United States and Israel are both considering alternative approaches to end the war on their terms, according to an i24 News report today (Sunday).

Per the report, the Trump administration is considering a new-old idea of proposing a complete end to the war on condition Hamas cease to be a factor in Gaza, an idea which Hamas has repeatedly rejected in the past.

Israel, meanwhile, is mulling sending Hamas an ultimatum to hand over the hostages "or else," though it remains unclear what Israel intends to do if Hamas rejects the threat.

Palestinian sources speaking to Saudi media say they believe a partial deal can still be struck as most of the terms are agreed upon, but Israeli sources speaking to Israel Hayom say there's no evidence Hamas has softened its demands, and indeed signs point to Hamas becoming even more unwilling to negotiate due to current international pressure on Israel.
