Unusual Incident at the Western Wall: Woman Injured by Stray Bullet
A 54-year-old woman was lightly injured by a stray bullet at Jerusalem's Western Wall women's section. Police launched investigation after bullet without casing found at scene.

A 54-year-old woman was injured this evening (Monday) by a stray bullet while she was in the women’s section of the Western Wall in Jerusalem.
Paramedics from United Hatzalah provided her with initial medical treatment at the site. She was later evacuated in light condition by an intensive care ambulance to the hospital.
According to an initial investigation, the woman reported hearing a loud noise near her ear. Shortly afterward, she realized she had been injured. A bullet - without a casing - was found nearby.
Shuki Bakar and Zachi Yahav, paramedics with United Hatzalah, along with EMTs Moshe Weiner, Akiva Angel, and David Milgrom, stated:
“We provided initial medical assistance at the Western Wall plaza and then transported her via intensive care ambulance to the hospital for further treatment. Her condition is currently defined as light.”
The Israel Police released a statement saying:
“Officers from the David District in the Jerusalem District have launched an investigation into the circumstances of a woman’s injury in the Old City of Jerusalem, apparently due to a stray bullet. As a result of the incident, the woman was evacuated in light condition (according to medical sources) for treatment at the hospital.”
Police forensic units and investigators arrived at the scene to collect evidence and assess the situation.
