A chilling discovery in Bibb County, Alabama, has exposed a bunker where at least ten children, aged 3 to 15, endured severe abuse over nearly three years.
The perpetrators, including some of the children’s parents, operated a network that sold the children for profit, subjecting them to unimaginable atrocities, according to local authorities.
The bunker, originally a storm shelter, was revealed as the site of the abuses. Police released an image showing a grim room inside, containing a mattress, a fan, and a filthy bed where children were restrained for exploitation by adults.
Sheriff Jody Wade, a 33-year law enforcement veteran, described the case as “the most horrific thing I’ve ever seen regarding child victims.” He added, “I know God’s forgiveness is limitless, but if it had a limit, I think we’ve reached it. My fear now is that we’ll find more victims and suspects.
”Investigators say the abuses began around 2022 and continued until last week, enabled by the bunker’s isolation and the complicity of some parents. The network reportedly charged up to $1,000 per night, with children tied to furniture and, in some cases, drugged to suppress resistance. Authorities have arrested seven suspects, and the ten children are now in protective custody as the investigation continues.
