At least seven people were injured in a shooting at a Crown Heights Brooklyn restaurant early Sunday morning, as authorities continue to search for the suspect.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) responded to multiple reports of gunfire near Taste of the City Lounge at 903 Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights shortly before 3:30 a.m. Witnesses described a chaotic scene as emergency vehicles and flashing police lights swarmed the area.

Seven victims were found inside the venue with gunshot wounds and were rushed to local hospitals. Their current conditions have not been disclosed. Police have not made any arrests. “The investigation is ongoing,” the NYPD confirmed, urging residents to avoid the area.

Social media posts from eyewitnesses showed extensive police cordons with crime tape stretching for several blocks. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and conducting witness interviews to piece together the events that led to the shooting. Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Taste of the City Lounge, a popular American and Caribbean eatery known for its full bar, hookah, and live DJs, was the scene of the incident. According to police, the shooting erupted after a verbal dispute between two individuals escalated.

This incident comes just days after a separate shooting in Times Square, which left three people injured when a teenage gunman opened fire at a busy tourist area.

The NYPD continues to treat the Crown Heights shooting as an active investigation and has not released any description of the suspect.

This is a developing story.

02:51 PM:

Three men were killed and eight others wounded after the gunfire. Between the victims, a 25-year-old, a 27-year-old, and another man whose age has not yet been identified. Among the injured were five men and three women, ages 27 to 61, all transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the violence stemmed from a dispute inside the venue and involved multiple shooters. Investigators recovered 36 shell casings and a firearm near Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway, though it remains unclear if the weapon was tied to the shooting.

No arrests have been made. The NYPD is reviewing security footage and interviewing witnesses as the investigation continues.
