A social media firestorm has erupted following Meghan Markle’s decision to release a rosé wine on what would have been Princess Diana’s birthday (yesterday), a move critics have called "disturbing" and "deeply inappropriate," given Diana’s death in a car crash involving a drunk driver.

One widely circulated post from @CandidCoverage accused the Duchess of Sussex of exploiting Diana’s legacy for profit. “Of all the days in the year, she picked this one to promote alcohol,” the post read. “She didn’t choose to honor her memory. She used the day to sell a product.”

The post further condemned Prince Harry’s silence, calling it “indefensible” and accusing him of betraying his mother’s legacy. “He has failed her in the most unforgivable way. He is weak, complicit, and entirely without principle,” it continued.

The criticism intensified with accusations that the couple has used Princess Diana’s name and image to gain sympathy, attention, and financial gain. “This is not empowerment. This is not business. This is exploitation of the dead for profit. It is sick. It is morally bankrupt,” the post concluded.

Neither Harry nor Meghan has responded to the backlash.
