Senate passes Big, Beautiful Bill, with Vance breaking the tie
After a 24 hour marathon, the Senate has now passed the Republican reconciliation bill. It now must pass the House one more time before it goes to Trump's desk.

After 24 hours of multiple votes on amendments, debates, and social media fights, the Senate has now (Tuesday) narrowly passed President Trump's reconciliation bill, otherwise known as the One, Big Beautiful Bill, by 51-50, with Vice President Vance providing the tiebreaker vote.
The bill now goes to the House for final passage, where it awaits a grueling battle with the Republican party's conservative wing, which deeply opposes the lack of budget cuts and deficit spending, and where the party can only afford to "lose" a few votes to pass it.
Trump's signature bill ensures a number of goals such as ending federal taxes on overtime, tips, and Social Security, as well as providing vital funding for the president's deportation efforts of illegal immigrants.
