Trump imposes big, beautiful tariff rate on China - 104%
President Trump followed up on his threat to impose new tariffs on China, on top of the tariffs already imposed.

President Donald Trump announced the imposition of additional tariffs on China today (Tuesday) as punishment for their refusal to negotiate and change what he considers unfair trade practices, according to a White House official speaking to CNBC.
The Trump administration has also made it clear that all the tariffs imposed by Trump's executive order of April 2, which Trump called "liberation day," will go into effect tomorrow.
They also said that over 70 countries have offered to make deals with the United States to try and reduce or eliminate the US tariffs in exchange for similar tariff reductions on their part.
White House Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said that Israel's offer to reduce all tariffs, trade barriers, and trade deficits with the United States should be a model for other countries, even though the President himself did not agree to reduce the tariffs and even brought up the large amount of aid provided to Israel by the United States.
