Trump's great big failure: Putin Refuses to End Ukraine War
Trump and Putin spoke last night for an hour about pressing issues, including the ongoing war with Ukraine and the American bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities. Putin insisted on continuing until the war's objectives are achieved and expressed reservations about the Pentagon's military action

Last night (Thursday to Friday), U.S. President Donald Trump held a lengthy phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Despite Trump's repeated declarations of his desire to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, Putin reiterated that Moscow has no intention of retreating from its war objectives.
Additionally, alongside discussions about the regional conflict with Ukraine, Russian sources say the two also discussed the war between Israel and Iran and the American attacks on nuclear facilities, an issue of growing interest to Russia due to the presence of Russian nuclear scientists in Iran.
Putin emphasized to Trump that the Iran issue must be resolved solely through diplomatic means.
According to a Reuters report, U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters he is "disappointed with Russian President Vladimir Putin." The American president added that, in his view, Putin has no intention of stopping the fighting, and no progress was made on the issue during their conversation.
This morning, it was reported that Dutch intelligence uncovered evidence of a Russian program to produce nitrogen-based chemical agents on a "large scale," which are banned for use worldwide. These findings support claims that the Russian military used chemical weapons against Ukraine during the war.
According to Reuters, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons has not yet been asked to investigate the revelation. Russia has previously denied similar accusations of using chemical weapons in military conflicts.
Interestingly, while former U.S. President Joe Biden avoided speaking with Putin since the invasion of Ukraine and boycotted contact with him due to clear distrust, Trump has been regularly communicating with Putin. Last night's call was reportedly their sixth since the start of Trump's second term. However, as mentioned, Putin rejected the American president's pressure to end the war, declaring that the military campaign would continue to achieve its objectives.
To Trump's great embarrassment, he is deeply frustrated by the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, especially since, during his recent election campaign, he repeatedly promised voters he would bring a swift end to the war within 24 hours—a promise that continues to grow more distant in light of reality.
What stands out above all is that all of Trump's attempts and pressures—through measures like military aid to Ukraine and threats of sanctions on Russia—have so far yielded no results.
