U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth delivered a fiery rebuke to major media outlets during a recent address, accusing them of politicizing the successful joint U.S.-Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear program.

The Secretary lashed out at what he called "fake news," targeting CNN and The New York Times.

"The skill and the courage it took to go into enemy territory, flying 36 hours on behalf of the American people and the world... to take out a nuclear program is beyond what anyone in this audience can fathom," the Secretary reportedly said.

He went on to criticize the media’s response, stating, "And then the instinct, the instinct of CNN... The New York Times is to try to find a way to spin it for their own political reasons, to try to hurt POTUS or our country. They don't care what the troops think, they don't care what the world says. They want to spin it to try to make him look bad based on a leak. Leakers have agendas. They share information based on these agendas .., All of the evidence of what was just bombed by 12 30,000 pund bombs is buried under. amountian, devastated and oblitertaed. So if you want to make an assessment of what happened at Fordo, you better get a big shovel and go really deep because Iran's nuclear prohgram is obliterated. Those that dropped the bombs precisely in the right place know precisely what happened when that exploded. And you know who else knows? Iran knows. Thats' why they came to the table straight away."

The remarks come in the wake of the high-stakes operation against Iran’s Fordow facility, which has drawn mixed coverage. While the Defense Department has hailed the mission’s success, some outlets have questioned the extent of the damage.

The Secretary’s comments reflect growing tensions between the administration and media, with the administration defending its strategic decisions amid ongoing geopolitical challenges.
