IDF Gets Major Upgrade: 500 Million Deal for Humvees
The Israeli Ministry of Defense signed a strategic deal worth 500 million shekels to acquire hundreds of new AM General Humvees for ground forces modernization.

In a major step to modernize its ground forces, Israel has signed a strategic deal with American defense company AM General to purchase hundreds of light tactical vehicles commonly known as Humvees.
The agreement, valued at approximately 500 million shekels, was approved by the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram, and signed by the Ministry’s procurement mission in the United States.
The first batch of vehicles is expected to arrive later this year.
Designed for a wide range of combat tasks, the Humvees will serve in transporting troops, evacuating the wounded, delivering logistics and ammunition, providing fire support, command-and-control, training, and special operations.
The newly acquired configuration features high off-road capabilities, long operational lifespan, and user-friendly operation and maintenance. Each vehicle is adapted to transport over ten soldiers, evacuate multiple wounded personnel, and deliver enhanced firepower.
