Prime Minister’s Close Guard Guilty of Sex Offenses
A state disciplinary court found the security Guard guilty of sexually harassing two female employees at the Prime Minister’s Residence.
A disciplinary tribunal has convicted a security guard in his 30s, formerly assigned to the Prime Minister’s Residence during the tenures of Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid, of committing indecent acts against two female staffers.
Initially, four women complained, but two chose not to testify. The case centered on one complainant who reported that during a staff party she caught the guard secretly filming her in a swimsuit. She later alleged he went on to touch her chest with a stick and committed other inappropriate acts over several months.
The tribunal concluded that the guard had touched the women in intimate areas, chest, buttocks, and thighs, against their will. He was dismissed following the investigation.
The state prosecutor sought a 12-year ban from positions in the Prime Minister’s Office. The tribunal ultimately ruled:
Attorney Merav Zamir, representing the guard, blasted the ruling:
“This was a malicious plot driven by one employee who tried to recruit others. Two refused to cooperate, saying nothing happened. The site is monitored 24/7, there are no blind spots. These claims are impossible.”
She added that the conviction was based on “unreliable testimony” and insisted a criminal court would have acquitted him.
At Israel’s most secure address, where cameras run 24/7, a guard sworn to protect the Prime Minister now stands convicted of violating the women he was meant to safeguard.
