Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has warned that if Congress passes what he calls an “insane” multi‑trillion dollar spending bill, he will immediately establish a new political party, the “America Party”, aimed at countering the entrenched “Democrat–Republican uniparty.”

Musk, who previously backed President Trump and led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), took to X (formerly Twitter) to lambaste the legislation. He labeled it “utterly insane and destructive,” criticized lawmakers as members of the “PORKY PIG PARTY,” and pledged to support a true representative alternative:

“If this insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day,” he wrote.

“Our country needs an alternative to the Democrat‑Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a VOICE.”

The proposed bill carries an estimated $5 trillion in new debt and is loaded with controversial provisions, from tax breaks and federal cuts to sweeping redistributions.

Third parties traditionally struggle in the U.S., but believe Musk’s platform and media influence could shift dynamics among disillusioned voters, especially those alienated by both major parties.
