A Palestinian-American man was killed during a violent clash between Israeli settlers and Palestinians in the village of Sinjil, located in Judea and Samaria north of Ramallah, Palestinian authorities reported Friday.

The 23-year-old, identified as Saif al-Din Muslet from Mazraa al-Sharqiya, allegedly died after being struck in the head with a club during the confrontation.

The U.S. State Department confirmed his death and said it is providing consular support to the family. “Ensuring the safety of U.S. citizens overseas is a top priority,” a spokesperson said, declining to comment further “out of respect for the family’s privacy during this difficult time.”

The Israeli military said it is aware of the reports and that the incident is being investigated by the Shin Bet and police. According to the IDF, the violence began after Palestinians threw stones at Israelis near Sinjil, lightly injuring two civilians. The situation escalated into a broader confrontation involving property damage, arson, and physical altercations.

Palestinian officials also reported that another young man was found dead after initially being declared missing, and at least ten others were injured in the clashes.

This incident follows a series of violent confrontations between settlers and Palestinians in Judea and Samaria since the outbreak of the war in Gaza.
