Trump to Prosecute George Soros and Son Under RICO Law
President accuses Jewish philanthropist and his son of funding “violent protests”

President Donald Trump launched a blistering attack Wednesday on Hungarian-born billionaire George Soros, 95, and his son Alex, calling for their prosecution under federal racketeering laws. Trump accused the Soros family of bankrolling “violent protests across the United States.”
“George Soros, and his wonderful radical-left son, should be indicted under RICO for their support of violent protests, and for much more,” Trump wrote on his social media platform. “We will not allow these maniacs to continue tearing America apart. Soros and his gang of psychopaths have caused tremendous damage to our country. Watch out, we are watching you!”
Soros, a Holocaust survivor who built his fortune in finance, has donated billions of dollars worldwide to liberal causes, human rights groups, and pro-democracy movements through his Open Society Foundations. In U.S. politics, he has been one of the largest backers of the Democratic Party, making him a constant lightning rod for conservative attacks and conspiracy theories.
Over the years, Soros has been blamed by right-wing voices for fueling Europe’s refugee crisis, unrest at the U.S. southern border, and mass protests, including the 2020 demonstrations following the killing of George Floyd. In June 2025, his name surfaced again amid protests in Los Angeles over immigration raids, which prompted Trump to deploy National Guard troops.
In a sharp rebuttal, a spokesperson for Open Society Foundations condemned Trump’s remarks as “outrageous and false.” The foundation insisted it does not support or finance violent protests: “We stand for free speech and nonviolent demonstration, which are hallmarks of any vibrant democracy.”
