Yair Netanyahu, son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, published a Facebook post on Monday night accusing the Gulf state of Qatar of being “the main force” behind the unprecedented wave of global antisemitism, calling the country “the Nazi Germany of today.”

“Every Jew in the world is in grave danger,” he wrote, “because of decades of incitement against Jews and the Jewish state, funded by billions from Qatar.”

He explicitly likened Qatar’s Emir, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his mother, Moza bint Nasser, to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Goebbels, labeling them “today’s Hitler and Goebbels.”

The post comes just as Qatar continues to mediate between Israel and Hamas in hostage negotiations, and as a separate scandal, dubbed “Qatar-Gate,” unfolds in Israel’s national security and political establishment.

Background: Qatar-Gate and Alleged Ties to Netanyahu’s Inner Circle

Yair Netanyahu’s post coincides with reports of a major investigation into alleged clandestine ties between associates of the Prime Minister and the Qatari government. The suspicions include contact with a foreign agent, money laundering, classified information leaks, and foreign influence on Israeli policy.

Among the suspects: former Netanyahu spokesperson Yonatan Urich and ex-senior aide Eli Feldstein, both recently arrested.

Critics say Yair’s attack on Qatar may be an attempt to preempt or deflect attention from these ties.

A Pattern of Provocation

Yair Netanyahu, has previously lashed out at world leaders. In April, after French President Emmanuel Macron voiced support for Palestinian statehood, Yair tweeted at him: “Screw you,” accusing France of neo-imperialism and comparing Macron to Nazi collaborators.

Qatar, home to senior Hamas officials and the host of U.S.-backed mediation efforts, has long faced criticism in Israel for its dual role, publicly brokering ceasefires while enabling Hamas’s survival.
