Yemen retaliates.

Sirens blared across the Dead Sea region and Gush Etzion early Monday morning, marking the second consecutive night of alarms triggered by missile fire from Yemen.

MDA, Israel’s national emergency medical service, confirmed that no injuries or impacts were reported. Twelve minutes after the sirens, Israel’s Home Front Command issued an “all clear,” instructing residents that they could exit protected spaces.

Retaliation After Major Israeli Strikes

The launch came just hours after Israel initiated an extensive wave of airstrikes targeting Houthi-controlled ports in Yemen. The campaign, dubbed “Operation Black Flag,” saw Israeli fighter jets strike Hudaydah, Ras Issa, and As-Salif - as well as the Ras Kantib power station and the "Galaxy Leader" cargo ship, which was seized by the Houthis in November 2023 and has since been used for terror operations in the Red Sea.

Israeli sources say over 50 precision-guided munitions were dropped during the strikes. The IDF issued an urgent evacuation warning to civilians in the area shortly before the operation began. Explosions were reported in Hudaydah and Ras Issa during the raids.

This marks the first Israeli strike in Yemen since the alleged assassination attempt on Houthi military chief Mohammed Abdul Karim al-Ghamari three weeks ago, as part of Israel’s broader military campaign against Iranian proxies in the region.

The Houthi missile launches follow a series of similar incidents over the past week, including a Saturday night attack that triggered alarms in the same regions. On Tuesday, missiles fired from Yemen prompted sirens in central Israel, the Jerusalem area, and parts of the Negev. All projectiles were intercepted, and no injuries were reported.
