The two players who will not take part in the tournament are Roi Huber (Hapoel Jerusalem) and Idan Zalmanson (Hapoel Holon).
Group Stage Challenge
Israel has been drawn into Group D, alongside France, Slovenia, Belgium, Iceland, and Poland. The top four teams from the group will advance to the round of 16, where Group D crosses over with Group C.
The team will open its campaign on Thursday, August 28, against Iceland at 15:00.
Preparations and Form
Ahead of the competition, Israel played five warm-up games, winning against Georgia, Greece, and Cyprus, but falling short against Estonia and Montenegro.
Despite the mixed results, expectations remain high with a squad combining NBA talent in Deni Avdija and experienced EuroLeague contributors like Madar, Ginat, and Sorkin.
Coach Beit-Halachmi emphasized the importance of unity and preparation: “We have a tough group, but this team is hungry and motivated to prove itself on the European stage.”
