The Lebanese Government unanimously approved the "targets" for disarming Hezbollah and ensuring peace between Israel and Lebanon as proposed by the United States today (Thursday).

According to Kann News, these are the targets approved:

"Lebanon will implement the "Taif Agreement" (the "National Accord" document - from 1989), the Lebanese Constitution and Security Council resolutions, primarily Resolution 1701, and will take the necessary steps to exercise its full sovereignty over all its territories, with the aim of strengthening the functioning of legitimate institutions, and establishing the state's exclusive authority to make decisions on matters of war and peace and to ensure that weapons possession will be in the hands of the state alone in all parts of Lebanon.

"To ensure the continuation of the ceasefire, including stopping all land, air and sea violations through organized measures that will lead to a guaranteed, permanent and comprehensive solution.

"Gradual removal of all armed presence of all non-governmental entities, including Hezbollah, throughout Lebanon - including south and north of the Litani River, accompanied by adequate support for the Lebanese army and "Internal Security" forces. Deployment of Lebanese army forces in border areas and central internal areas, while receiving adequate support for the Lebanese army and "Internal Security" forces.

"Israel's withdrawal from the five points, and resolving border and prisoner issues diplomatically, through indirect negotiations.

"Return of residents of villages and towns along the border to their homes and property.

"Ensuring Israel's withdrawal from Lebanese territories and cessation of all combat operations, including ground, air and sea violations.

"Permanent and clear demarcation of the international border between Lebanon and Israel.

"Permanent demarcation of the border between Lebanon and Syria. Holding an economic conference in which the United States, France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other countries friendly to Lebanon will participate, for the purpose of supporting the Lebanese economy and rehabilitation and reconstruction. 11. International support for Lebanese security mechanisms and especially for the Lebanese army, with appropriate military means to implement the proposal's clauses, in order to ensure Lebanon's defense."

Ambassador Tom Barrack welcomed and celebrated this decision on X:

Hezbollah itself has remained steadfast in its refusal to disarm, voluntarily or not.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Army is reportedly also operating against Hezbollah on a daily basis, but avoids publishing any footage or documentation to avoid appearing as a collaborator with Israel, according to Kann.
